The ReSEED- Rescuing the seeds' heritage project (https://reseed.uc.pt/), was conceived and only made sense through interdisciplinarity. Since 2018, the goal of investigating the socio-economic changes and the path of cultivated seeds from the new worlds to Europe, mainly in the Iberian Peninsula, requires knowledge not only of history but of biology, agronomy, economics and genetics, among others. It is also research in the long run, to which even archaeology should contribute. How to develop this research? How to cross methods? How to work together about this object called seed, with so many lenses? We have been trying to build answers through partnerships. This presentation aims to explain the creation of &#8220;Collaboratories&#8221;: collaborations with researchers and projects to discuss subjects related to our research. Each one is developed in a different way, depending on the specific goal. Two examples will be given to showcase these diverse approaches: the partnership with a gastronomy school to study 18th century recipes and reinterpret them considering the 21st-century demands; the collaboration with a project that conducts an in-depth characterization of the Portuguese genome landscape using genomics analysis of modern and ancient DNA related to grapevines, since grapes are a key element in the country&#8217;s agriculture. These &#8220;Collaboratories&#8221; take on various institutional expressions at different stages of development. The results obtained allow us to understand the different dimensions of the seeds cultivated in the Iberian Peninsula in the last 500 years. </dc:description>
