For this reason, we have carried out a thirty-two-year-old long-term trial in Kabete, Kenya. These soils were treated with organic (maize stover (MS) at 10 t ha\u22121, farmyard manure (FYM) at 10 t ha\u22121) and inorganic fertilizers 120 kg N, 52.8 kg P (N2P2), N2P2 + MS, N2P2 + FYM, a control, and a fallow for over 30 years. We examined 16S rRNA gene and 28S rRNA gene fingerprints of bacterial and fungal diversity by PCR amplification and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis separation, respectively. The PCR bacterial community structure and diversity were negatively affected by N2P2 and were more closely related to the bacterial structure in the soils without any addition (control) than that of soils with a combination of inorganic and organic or inorganic fertilizers alone. The effect on fungal diversity by N2P2 was different than the effect on bacterial diversity since the fungal diversity was similar to that of the N2P2 + FYM and N2P2 + MS-treated. However, soils treated with organic inputs clustered away from soils amended with inorganic inputs. Organic inputs had a positive effect on both bacterial and fungal diversity with or without chemical fertilizers. Die Gestaltung    zukunftsf\uffc3\uffa4higer Agrarlandschaften bedarf einer \uffc3\uffbcber den einzelnen Schlag hinausgehenden Betrachtung    und ist eine gesamtgesellschaftliche Aufgabe, die deutlich \uffc3\uffbcber die Verantwortung und M\uffc3\uffb6glichkeiten    der einzelnen Grundst\uffc3\uffbcckseigent\uffc3\uffbcmerInnen und -bewirtschafterInnen hinausreicht. Ausgehend von    den bekannten \uffc3\uffb6kologischen Problemen und den im Beitrag ausf\uffc3\uffbchrlicher dargestellten besonderen    Herausforderungen des Klimawandels untersuchen wir daher, was Zukunftsf\uffc3\uffa4higkeit bedeutet und welche    gesellschaftlichen Ziele und Anforderungen sich hieraus f\uffc3\uffbcr Agrarlandschaften identifizieren lassen. Gleichzeitig sind in Agrarlandschaften    trotz entsprechender europarechtlicher Verpflichtungen g\uffc3\uffbcnstige Erhaltungszust\uffc3\uffa4nde bei Habitaten,    Arten und Gew\uffc3\uffa4sser weiterhin die Ausnahme. Im nachfolgenden Beitrag sch\uffc3\uffa4tzen wir f\uffc3\uffbcr verschiedene    landschaftsgestaltende oder produktionsintegrierte Ma\uffc3\uff9fnahmen die potenziellen Wirkungen hinsichtlich    Klimaschutz und -anpassung, g\uffc3\uffbcnstiger Erhaltungszust\uffc3\uffa4nde sowie f\uffc3\uffbcr die langfristige Versorgungssicherheit    und die Profitabilit\uffc3\uffa4t von Landnutzungen ab. Anhand dieser Wirksamkeitsabsch\uffc3\uffa4tzungen identifizieren    wir anschlie\uffc3\uff9fend priorit\uffc3\uffa4r zu ergreifende Ma\uffc3\uff9fnahmen. Case studies are needed to assess the effect of such land use changes on soil fertility and C sequestration. In this study, the influence of Cerrado land development (pasture andEucalyptusplantations) on soil organic carbon (SOC) and nitrogen (SON) stocks were quantified in southern Brazil. Two contrasted silvicultural practices were also compared: 60\uffe2\uff80\uff83years of short\uffe2\uff80\uff90rotation silviculture (EUCSR) versus 60\uffe2\uff80\uff83years of continuous growth (EUCHF). C and N soil concentrations and bulk densities were measured and modelled for each vegetation type, and SOC and SON stocks were calculated down to a depth of 1\uffe2\uff80\uff83m by a continuous function.</p><p>Changes in SOC and SON stocks mainly occurred in the forest floor (no litter in pasture and up to 0.87\uffe2\uff80\uff83kg C\uffe2\uff80\uff83m\uffe2\uff88\uff922and 0.01\uffe2\uff80\uff83kg N\uffe2\uff80\uff83m\uffe2\uff88\uff922in EUCSR) and upper soil horizons. C and N stocks and their confidence intervals were greatly influenced by the methodology used to compute these layers. C/N ratio and13C analysis showed that down to a depth of 30\uffe2\uff80\uff83cm, the Cerrado organic matter was replaced by organic matter from newly introduced vegetation by as much as 75\uffe2\uff80\uff93100% for pasture and about 50% for EUCHF, poorer in N forEucalyptusstands (C/N larger than 18 forEucalyptusstands). Under pasture, 0\uffe2\uff80\uff9330\uffe2\uff80\uff83cm SON stocks (0.25\uffe2\uff80\uff83kg N\uffe2\uff80\uff83m\uffe2\uff88\uff922) were between 10 and 20% greater than those of the Cerrado (0.21\uffe2\uff80\uff83kg N\uffe2\uff80\uff83m\uffe2\uff88\uff922), partly due to soil compaction (limit bulk density at soil surface from 1.23 for the Cerrado to 1.34 for pasture). Land development on the Cerrado increased SOC stocks in the 0\uffe2\uff80\uff9330\uffe2\uff80\uff83cm layer by between 15 and 25% (from 2.99 (Cerrado) to 3.86 (EUCSR)\uffe2\uff80\uff83kg C\uffe2\uff80\uff83m\uffe2\uff88\uff922). With the evolution of technology, questions can be raised as to whether the standards for admissibility outlined in Section 106B are sufficient. This research critiques the sufficiency of standards of admissibility of evidence outlined in Section 106B. It does so by engaging in a comparative study of the standards used in the UK and in South Africa. The study arrives at the conclusion that the standards of admissibility currently in place offer too wide investigatory powers for law enforcement. These powers are subject to abuse and may result in compromising the integrity of digital evidence. The standards in Section 106B offer little guidance for law enforcement and criminal justice partners in admitting digital evidence. With the evolution of technology as well as the primacy placed on personal liberties such as the right to privacy, more stringent rules must be developed. In order to complement the standards outlined in section 106B, guidelines should be developed. These guidelines could either be general or sectoral. They should be reviewed constantly in order to keep up with the latest technology trends. In the European Union, the recently approved Nature Restoration Law aims to increase SOC stock trends in the top 30\u00a0cm of cropland mineral soils. However, current monitoring and reporting practices in some countries rely on simplistic SOC models with default parameters, which may not provide reliable predictions. In this paper, we study the feasibility of a 4\u00a0\u2030 target in European croplands (i.e., an aspirational target proposed by The international '4 per 1000' Initiative), through estimations of required C input changes. To ensure robust predictions, we propose a novel calibration approach that links model parameters to pedo-climatic variables via statistical relationships from 16 long-term experiments. The effectiveness of the method is evaluated for three SOC models across 4281 sites from the European LUCAS soil survey. Our findings demonstrate that the statistical calibration of the multi-model ensemble improves the accuracy of 2015 and 2018 SOC stock predictions, compared to default parameterization. This improvement was however mainly due to the substantial enhancement of one of the models. According to the weighted multi-model mean, median C input changes to reach a 4\u00a0\u2030 target for Northern, Central, and Southern Europe stand at 1.85, 1.20, and 0.13\u00a0Mg\u00a0C\u00a0ha-1\u00a0yr-1 under RCP 2.6, and 2.21, 1.26, and -0.10\u00a0Mg\u00a0C\u00a0ha-1\u00a0yr-1 under RCP 6.0, respectively. To achieve the aspirational 4\u00a0\u2030 target, estimated C input change requirements exceed the predicted changes in net primary productivity under RCP 2.6 and RCP 6.0.
