Here, we investigated the combination of nano-TiO2 and hydroxyapatite (HAP), previously developed for marble protection against dissolution in rain and mechanical consolidation. HAP-TiO2 combination was investigated by two routes: (i) sequential application of HAP followed by nano-TiO2 (\uffe2\uff80\uff9cH+T\uffe2\uff80\uff9d); (ii) simultaneous application by introducing nano-TiO2 into the phosphate solution used to form HAP (\uffe2\uff80\uff9cHT\uffe2\uff80\uff9d). The self-cleaning ability was evaluated before and after prolonged exposure to simulated rain. \uffe2\uff80\uff9cH+T\uffe2\uff80\uff9d and \uffe2\uff80\uff9cHT\uffe2\uff80\uff9d coatings exhibited much better resistance to nano-TiO2 leaching by rain, compared to TiO2 alone. In \uffe2\uff80\uff9cH+T\uffe2\uff80\uff9d samples, TiO2 nano-particles adhere better to HAP (having flower-like morphology and high specific surface area) than to marble. To reach this objective, an overview of the state of the art of ML isdone, visualising trends by science maps, based on bibliographic data of established research journals, found in GoogleScholar, Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus search engines. The bibliographic review carried out shows that the study ofML has traditionally been carried out with an ad hoc basis focused on the objective to be achieved, this aspect and otherknowledge gaps are discussed to analyse the global study of ML. The current methods for identifying ML are diverse, they employ multiple parameters andvariables derived from land use and land cover, and mostly reflect specific management purposes. A methodologicalapproach for the identification of marginal lands using remote sensing and ancillary data products and validated on samplesfrom four European countries (i.e., Germany, Spain, Greece, and Poland) is presented in this paper. The methodologyproposed combines land use and land cover data sets as excluding indicators (forest, croplands, protected areas,impervious areas, land-use change, water bodies, and permanent snow areas) and environmental constraints informationas marginality indicators: (i) physical soil properties, in terms of slope gradient, erosion, soil depth, soil texture, percentageof coarse soil texture fragments, etc.; (ii) climatic factors e.g. aridity index; (iii) chemical soil properties, including soil pH,cation exchange capacity, contaminants, and toxicity, among others. This provides a common vision of marginality thatintegrates a multidisciplinary approach. To determine the ML, we first analyzed the excluding indicators used to delimit theareas with defined land use. Then, thresholds were determined for each marginality indicator through which the landproductivity progressively decreases. Finally, the marginality indicator layers were combined in Google Earth Engine. Theresult was categorized into 3 levels of productivity of ML: high productivity, low productivity, and potentially unsuitable land.The results obtained indicate that the percentage of marginal land per country is 11.64% in Germany, 19.96% in Spain,18.76% in Greece, and 7.18% in Poland. Turner (2022<em>) Revealing patterns and connections in the historic landscape of the northern Apennines (Vetto, Italy),</em> Journal of Maps, DOI: 10.1080/17445647.2022.2088305 <strong>Abstract</strong> In the Northern Apennines, significant modifications to the characteristic historic features of landscapes occurred since the 1950s as agriculture declined in importance and villages were progressively depopulated. Today European and national policies are promoting the repopulation of these regions in order to help preserve the cultural identity of territories and to reduce demographic pressure in urban areas. Such initiatives increase the need for cultural and natural landscape management to be better integrated using interdisciplinary approaches. Sustainable landscape management is a dynamic process involving the formulation of a set of strategies to underpin the preservation of landscape heritage and to foster local development on the basis of the values and opportunities provided by landscapes themselves. This study uses landscape archaeology and spatial statistics to provide insights into which parts of the historic landscape retain the greatest time-depth and which parts reflect more recent radical change, enabling an understanding which goes beyond the basic spatial relationships between landscape components. <strong>Methods</strong> This dataset was explored with two spatial statistical tools using the programming language R (R Core Team 2021): Local Indicators for Categorical Data (LICD) and Point Pattern analysis (PPA). The LICD method is based on join-count statistics (JCS), a solid method to measure the correlation between binomial variables and the distance between observations. LICD has been recently employed in landscape archaeological studies for verifying visible patterns and disclosing hidden spatial relationships (article: Carrer et al. 2021, Data: Zenodo Repository) The application of PPA in landscape studies has been widely applied in Ecology and it is growing popular also in Archaeology (Knitter and Nakoinz 2018; Brandolini and Carrer 2020; Costanzo et al. 2021). Pretende por lo tanto entender qu\u00e9 tipo de proyectos se han financiado dentro de la disciplina y cu\u00e1l ha sido su evoluci\u00f3n tem\u00e1tica a lo largo del tiempo y para ello, emplea t\u00e9cnicas de an\u00e1lisis de datos y procesamiento de lenguaje natural (NLP) para extraer informaci\u00f3n de las principales fuentes de informaci\u00f3n, y procesarla con el fin de aportar luz a la pregunta de investigaci\u00f3n: \u00bfqu\u00e9 tem\u00e1ticas, dentro del \u00e1mbito del patrimonio cultural, abordan los proyectos europeos de investigaci\u00f3n? Partiendo de el contexto pol\u00edtico y legal en el que se financian estos proyectos, el trabajo desarrolla una metodolog\u00eda para identificar, procesar y analizar los datos asociados a los proyectos europeos de investigaci\u00f3n sobre patrimonio cultural, metodolog\u00eda que sirve posteriormente para analizar y describir las caracter\u00edsticas y tendencias del conjunto de proyectos. It is well known that destination marketing successfully uses visual media as a tool to sell trips to potential tourists. Therefore, this essay examines how ecotourism benefits from the great power of the television. The analyzed material contains of six different TV shows, sorted into two groups \u2013 travel shows and discussion programs. With the theory of the tourist gaze, semiotics, destination marketing and the experience economy the study resulted in the conclusion that all TV shows are built upon collective cultural representations found in the exotic and the authentic.
