This data is disseminated in INSPIRE compliant format and is directly derived from the Surface Agricole data from SIGEC 2023 according to Directive 2021/20115/EU. Agricultural areas consist of arable land, permanent grassland and permanent crops. These areas include the constituent elements of the reference parcels, units of the Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS or LPIS) required by the European Commission.  The Paying Agency of Wallonia determines the types of coverage of agricultural areas on the basis of the consolidated crop codes and the history of the parcels. It is based on aerial orthophotographs taken annually throughout Wallonia. Automatic findings are generated when there is a discrepancy between the crop code declared by the farmer, checked on the spot or detected by the AMS (Area Monitoring System) and the type of cover recorded in the identification system for agricultural parcels.  The types of coverage are as follows:  - arable land  - permanent grassland  - permanent culture  Agricultural areas also include landscape features (from 2023) and ecological focus areas (EFAs; before 2023).  Each agricultural area bears a unique identification registered in the LPIS, Wallonia\u2019s Geographic Information System (GIS).  They concern the entire Walloon territory.  Agricultural areas are published in order to meet Regulation 2023/138/EU. The technical specifications of the WAL_UTS__2018 data are the result of a needs analysis procedure and co-constructions with a panel of Walloon stakeholders.  The WAL_UTS__2018 data itemises land use according to two classifications: - The attribute \u2018walusmaj\u2019 shows the main land use according to an amendment to the INSPIRE legend resulting from the co-construction procedure with Walloon users; It can be broken down into three levels of detail; - The attributes \u2018allHilucsLandUse\u2019 show land use in accordance with the technical specifications of the INSPIRE Directive under scenarios 1 and 2 of the legend \u2018Hierarchical Land Use Classification System (HILUCS)\u2019.  Data WAL_UTS__2018 provides information on land use per cadastral parcel and for non-cadastral areas. In the near future, this information will be consolidated by business geometry (see associated resources). The European Directive 2007/2/EC - INSPIRE Directive - establishes an infrastructure for spatial information in the European Community. INSPIRE applies to 34 thematic areas divided into 3 Annexes. This series includes the spatial data layers referring to land use (Annex 3.4).  Within the meaning of the Directive, the theme \"land use\" covers \"territories characterised by their intended functional dimension or their current and future socio-economic object (e.g. residential, industrial, commercial, agricultural, forestry, recreational)\".  The anonymous agricultural parcel (2015 situation) covers land use in agricultural and forestry areas managed as part of the implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy by the Paying Agency of Wallonia.  The anonymous agricultural parcel represents the public version of the agricultural parcel. It therefore does not include personal information enabling the operator to be identified. It is provided on an annual basis. The data of a crop year shall be made available to the public in the course of the following year. This version is for the crop year (vintage) 2015.  Anonymous agricultural parcels locate, in the form of polygons, the right-of-way of the agricultural parcels used and the main crop grown there, which does not preclude possible use in intercropping. This parcel is limited to Wallonia.  The main crop grown on the agricultural parcels is labelled and symbolized by a flat colour scheme.  The anonymous agricultural parcel is provided as an indication, and without any guarantee, both in terms of the limits and the information to be awarded. The boundaries of the parcels are based on an interpretation of the eligibility rules to be followed by the Paying Agency of Wallonia (OPW). They do not reflect property limits.
