The European Directive 2007/2/EC - INSPIRE Directive - establishes an infrastructure for spatial information in the European Community. INSPIRE applies to 34 thematic areas divided into 3 Annexes. This series includes the spatial data layers referring to land use (Annex 3.4).  Within the meaning of the Directive, the theme \"land use\" covers \"territories characterised by their intended functional dimension or their current and future socio-economic object (e.g. residential, industrial, commercial, agricultural, forestry, recreational)\".    The Code of Territorial Development (CoDT) entered into force on 1 June 2017 and modified the terminology and value of spatial planning tools in Wallonia. In its project planning approach, the CoDT puts in place the schemes, which are guidelines in which the spatial planning policy is carried out in Wallonia. There are four types of diagrams on different scales: one at regional level (SDT), one at multi-municipal level (SDPC) and two at communal level (SDC and SOL),  Among these documents, the Communal Development Scheme (SDC - Art. D.II.9 et seq. of the CoDT) is one of the two communal schemes. It is drawn up on the initiative of the municipal council and approved by the Government. The SDC defines the territorial strategy for the entire municipal territory on the basis of a contextual analysis. The CoDT wanted to design this scheme as a tool which, on the one hand, ensures the sustainability of the former Municipal Structure Scheme (SSC) and, on the other hand, makes it possible to envisage a more forward-looking approach to the management of the municipal territory. The territorial strategy of the SDC defines the municipal territorial development objectives and the way in which these objectives delineate the regional objectives of the Territorial Development Scheme (SDT) or, as the case may be, the Pluricommunal Development Scheme(s) (SDP), the principles for implementing these objectives, and the territorial structure.  The former Municipal Structure Scheme (SSC) defined in the CWATUP is assimilated to the SDC. Like the SSC, the SDC is indicative. It applies to the SOL, the Guide Communal d'Urbanisme (GCU) as well as to any decision taken on permits, certificates, declarations and land policy.  A municipality may have only one SDC. This INSPIRE compliant data comes from the CARBIOSOL source data - Predicted Total Organic Carbon Contents - period 2004-2014.  The quality of a soil can be assessed through the study of various physical, chemical or biological parameters. Among these parameters, soil organic carbon, which constitutes more than 50% of the mass of soil organic matter, is generally considered the main indicator of soil quality, both for its agricultural and environmental functions.  This data layer maps the total organic carbon (TOC) content of soils under permanent crops and grasslands in the Walloon Region for the period 2004-2014. The layer was created by spatial modelling method developed by UCL in the framework of the CARBIOSOL convention.  For more details on the mapping layers generated in the CARBIOSOL project, please refer to the metadata sheet documenting the data layer series.  In each pixel, the total organic carbon (TOC) content is expressed in grams of carbon per kilogram of dry fine earth (gC/kg). The output of the model is a raster layer of TOC contents at 90 meters resolution and spatially continuous on the Walloon agricultural territory.  The average TOC levels observed for soils (surface horizons) under crops and permanent grassland over the period 2004-2014 were 1.30 gC/kg and 3.61 gC/kg respectively, according to the REQUASUD database.  During the same period, 22 % of the areas under crops had TOC contents < 1.15 gC kg-1 and 73 % had contents < 1.5 gC/kg. Below 1.15 gC/kg, the soil is destructured. In Wallonia, 30% of the subsoil is made up of soluble carbonate rocks (limestone, dolomite, chalk, gypsum, etc.). By infiltrating these rocks, runoff generates a dissolution of these rocks, which gives rise to particular phenomena both underground (caves, underground rivers) and on the surface (chantoirs, sinkholes, collapses, cavities, etc.). These phenomena are called \"karstic\". By extension, the word \"karst\" also refers to a limestone region, or more broadly a region of soluble rocks whose landscape is marked by the effects of dissolution. We therefore speak of \"rock\", \"region\" or \"landscape\" karst.  The Atlas of Walloon Karst is the reference document for karst phenomena in Wallonia. In this context, the sites in which these phenomena take place are located and described, and two modes of representation follow: punctual or surface.   This data layer includes all the karst sites, both underground and above ground, located punctually (via their X,Y coordinates). There are more than 8000 phenomena in this layer. The associated table includes an identifier for each phenomenon (IGN map number + unique site number), the name and qualifier of the site (e.g. Grotte d'Eprave), the municipality in which the phenomenon is located, the watercourse draining the area of the site, fields to differentiate the site according to their nature and a hyperlink to the site data sheet.  The data layer is continuously updated by the Walloon Commission for the Study and Protection of Underground Sites (CWEPSS) with the help of many collaborators. The Code of Territorial Development (CoDT) entered into force on 1 June 2017 and modified the terminology and value of spatial planning tools in Wallonia. In its project planning logic, the CoDT implements the schemes.  Among these, the local orientation scheme (SOL - Art. D.II.11 et seq. of the CoDT) is one of the two municipal schemes. It is established on the initiative of the municipal council in a part of the territory of the municipality and determines the objectives of spatial planning and town planning. In addition to these objectives, the SOL contains the orientation map, and information on the location and height of buildings and structures, roads and public spaces, as well as the integration of technical equipment, in the event of exemption from urbanisation permits when dividing a property into lots.   The CoDT assimilates to the SOL, on the one hand, the Master Plan (PLD) and the Municipal Development Plan (PCA) defined in the CWATUP which lose their regulatory value and, on the other hand, the Master Plan (SCD) and the Urban and Environmental Reports (RUE) which retain their indicative value.  The SOL has an indicative value and applies to the Municipal Urban Planning Guide (GCU) as well as to any decision taken on permits, certificates, declarations and land policy.  A municipality may have one or more SOLs (CoDT - Art. D.II.9). The mapping of the natural concentration axes of runoff (LiDAXES) highlights areas at risk of runoff flooding and/or muddy flow arising from the natural concentration of surface runoff.  It is a linear vector data layer with 5 classes defined by the size of the watershed drained by the concentration axes. The amount of runoff increases as the size of the upstream watershed increases. The following classes are distinguished: - concentrated runoff routes draining water from a catchment area between 3 and 10 ha; - concentrated runoff routes draining water from a catchment area between 10 and 20 ha; - concentrated runoff routes draining water from a catchment area between 20 and 50 ha; - concentrated runoff routes draining water from a catchment area between 50 and 100 ha; - concentrated runoff routes draining water from a catchment area of more than 100 ha.  This layer has been established throughout the Walloon territory covered by the MNT LiDAR 2013-2014 (1m resolution). A pre-treatment of this NTM was first carried out to transform it into a 2m resolution with the aim of optimising the route of the axes. Indeed, too precise a resolution risks giving too much importance to too small elements of the landscape that are short-circuited during extreme rainy events. But it is the latter that cause the catastrophic damage. For reasons of readability, the information is only visible on scales between 1/1 000th and 1/5 000th.  Concentrated runoff axes are integrated into the Walloon hydrographic network (RHW). Therefore, this data layer is an indispensable complement to the reading of LIDAXES data. In general, the axes of concentration of runoff find their outlet in a watercourse without leaving it.   This layer is the result of a vectorization made from runoff axes in raster format (based on the \"Internet\" version of the raster).  This version of the data layer is generic and corresponds to the external version made available by the Public Service of Wallonia. It is therefore available through viewing service and download subject to the conditions of access and use.  For more details, refer to the methodological reports available in associated resources. Thus, more than 500 000 soil ranges are taken up in the form of polygons (vector layer). More than 6000 soil units are the legend of the map, to which the soil ranges are attached. These units are represented in the form of acronyms formed by the concatenation of symbols, each delivering information of an essentially morphological nature on soils.   The basic mapping unit of the CNSW legend is the main series defined by 3 or 4 major characteristics: texture, natural drainage, presence of a diagnostic horizon; nature and extent of the coarse element load. The addition of symbols in prefix (derived series) or suffix (variant or phase) makes it possible to specify certain secondary characteristics, such as the nature and depth of appearance of a different substrate, particularities related to parental material, profile development, anthropogenic influences or topographical position. These areas include the constituent elements of the reference parcels, units of the Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS or LPIS) required by the European Commission.  The Paying Agency of Wallonia determines the types of coverage of agricultural areas on the basis of the consolidated crop codes and the history of the parcels. It is based on aerial orthophotographs taken annually throughout Wallonia. Automatic findings are generated when there is a discrepancy between the crop code declared by the farmer, checked on the spot or detected by the AMS (Area Monitoring System) and the type of cover recorded in the identification system for agricultural parcels. This INSPIRE compliant data layer comes from the Atlas data of the Walloon karst - Underground flows.  In Wallonia, 30% of the subsoil is made up of soluble carbonate rocks (limestone, dolomite, chalk, gypsum, etc.). By infiltrating these rocks, runoff generates a dissolution of these rocks, which gives rise to particular phenomena both underground (caves, underground rivers) and on the surface (chantoirs, sinkholes, collapses, cavities, etc.). These phenomena are called \"karstic\". By extension, the word \"karst\" also refers to a limestone region, or more broadly a region of soluble rocks whose landscape is marked by the effects of dissolution. We therefore speak of \"rock\", \"region\" or \"landscape\" karst.  The Atlas of Walloon Karst is the reference document for karst phenomena in Wallonia. This data layer is integrated and symbolizes the tracing of groundwater flows in the karst between an infiltration point and an emergence point (loss/resurgence type relationships. This information is one of the major features of karst hydrology.   The data layer distinguishes underground flows that have been recognised by tracing (injection of a dye - code 1) from those that are hypothetical (not established with certainty - code 0).   On the map, a continuous line represents a traffic recognized by tracing. Hypothetical plots are represented in a discontinuous line (see legend). Each underground flow is uniquely identified. The name of the river is indicated, as well as the loss. A hyperlink allows you to consult the corresponding material safety data sheet.  In the Karst Atlas, loss/resurgence links (whether hypothetical or trace-verified) are very generally represented by straight lines between the \"incoming and outgoing\" of the underground environment. They therefore do not indicate in any way the route taken by the waters to reach the resurgence loss points, which will depend on the nature of the aquifer of the type of terrain, the presence of tectonic accidents and the orientation of the groundwater collector which may, in the karst, be completely independent of the surface relief. The European Directive 2007/2/EC - INSPIRE Directive - establishes an infrastructure for spatial information in the European Community. INSPIRE applies to 34 thematic areas divided into 3 Annexes. This series includes the spatial data layers referring to land use (Annex 3.4).  Within the meaning of the Directive, the theme \"land use\" covers \"territories characterised by their intended functional dimension or their current and future socio-economic object (e.g. residential, industrial, commercial, agricultural, forestry, recreational)\".  The mapping of land use for the entire Walloon territory for 2018 (WAL_UTS__2018) is complementary to the mapping of land use (WAL_OCS__2018) produced jointly under the WALlonie Occupation et Utilisation du Sol (WALOUS) research grant. The land use represented in the WAL_UTS__2018 data is defined as the \u2018Territory characterised by its functional dimension or its current socio-economic purpose (e.g. residential, industrial, commercial, agricultural, forestry, recreational)\u2019 (European INSPIRE Directive 2007/2/EC). The technical specifications of the WAL_UTS__2018 data are the result of a needs analysis procedure and co-constructions with a panel of Walloon stakeholders. The prediction comes from modelling the total organic carbon content of soils under crops and meadows as part of the CARBIOSOL project (UCLouvain - ULi\u00e8ge - DGARNE) and its production by REQUASUD for the 2015-2019 data layer.  For more details on the modeling implemented under CARBIOSOL, please refer to the metadata sheet documenting the data layer series.  For each land use, a Generalised Additive Model (GAM) has been adjusted to a calibration set containing two thirds of the observation points concerned. It was then validated on the remaining third.  Uncertainty modelling is a potential error that allows a better interpretation of the final cartographic products generated by the CARBIOSOL project. The mapping of total organic carbon contents for the period 2015-2019 should therefore be read in conjunction with the uncertainty map. Significant uncertainty reflects a less reliable prediction and therefore greater caution in the interpretation of values.  The mapping of modelling uncertainties associated with predicted TOC concentrations for the period 2015-2019 is a spatially continuous raster layer on soils under crops and grasslands with a resolution of 90 metres. In recent years, the environmental impact of growing Christmas trees has been raised several times (use of plant protection products, conversion of permanent grassland into crops, etc.).  The Directorate for Environmental Status (DEE) is responsible for drawing up and publishing reports on the state of the environment in Wallonia. The purpose of these Reports is to draw up a critical, evolving and forward-looking assessment of the various components of the Walloon environment, the pressures exerted by human activities and an analysis of the management carried out, in order to inform policy-makers, citizens, environmental stakeholders and managers (Articles D32 to D36 of Book I of the Environment Code and Decree of 16 March 2006 on the right of public access to environmental information). In this context, the EED maintains scientific monitoring and initiates the necessary studies to integrate emerging environmental issues. It is in this context that the DEE (SPW-DGO3-DEMNA) carried out a study to produce a map of the areas devoted to the cultivation of the Christmas tree (csN) in Wallonia.  On the basis of methodological principles (see genealogy), the data layer distinguishes the following three classes: - Class 1: plantations of Christmas trees proper; - Class 2: production of seedlings (areas dedicated to the production of Christmas tree seedlings, forest seedlings or ornamental seedlings (sowing and plucking phases); - Class 3: inedible nurseries and horticultural crops (forest, fruit or ornamental nurseries and inedible horticultural crops).  The 2015 anonymous agricultural plot was used as source data. For classes 1 and 2, the plots concerned are first identified by photo-interpretation of the infrared of the orthophotos. The plots mostly covered by Christmas trees are copied from the agricultural plot. In the case of partial occupancy or if the parcel is adjacent to the agricultural parcel, a new parcel is created.  Class 3 is derived only from the layer of the anonymous agricultural parcel on the basis of the crop code entered in that layer.  Each plot is represented in polygonal form and is described in relation to different administrative variables (commune, province), environmental variables (bioclimatic region, altitude) and cultural variables (nature of production).  The data layer covers the entire Walloon territory. The quality of a soil can be assessed through the study of various physical, chemical or biological parameters. Among these parameters, soil organic carbon, which constitutes more than 50% of the mass of soil organic matter, is generally considered the main indicator of soil quality, both for its agricultural and environmental functions.  This data layer is the mapping of Total Organic Carbon (TOC) levels for soils under crops and permanent grassland in the Walloon Region for a period between 2015 and 2019. The layer was created by spatial modeling method developed by UCLouvain as part of the CARBIOSOL convention and then transmitted to REQUASUD for data processing 2015-2019.  For more details on the mapping layers generated in the CARBIOSOL project, please refer to the metadata sheet documenting the data layer series.  In each pixel, the Total Organic Carbon (TOC) content is expressed in grams of carbon per kilogram of dry fine earth (gC/kg). The output of the model is a raster layer of TOC contents at 90 meters resolution and spatially continuous on the Walloon agricultural territory.  The average TOC levels observed for soils (surface horizons) under crops and permanent grassland over the period 2015-2019 were 1.33 gC/kg and 3.67 gC/kg respectively, according to the R\u00e9QuaSud database.   During the same period, 3.6% of the areas under crops had TOC contents < 1 gC kg-1 and 79% had contents < 1.5 gC/kg. As part of the CARBIOSOL project (UCL - ULg - DGARNE), a raster data layer of 40 meters of resolution of total organic carbon stocks of soils under crops and grasslands was generated by spatial modelling. This model was developed for each type of land use of interest (crops and permanent grasslands).  For each land use, a Generalised Additive Model (GAM) has been adjusted to a calibration set containing two thirds of the observation points concerned. It was then validated on the remaining third. Prediction uncertainties for stocks are calculated according to the recommendations of the GlobalSoilMap project (Heuveling, 2014 - see genealogy). The uncertainty in each pixel is expressed as a relative percentage (% relative to the predicted median value).  Prediction error modeling is a potential error that allows a better interpretation of the final cartographic products generated by the CARBIOSOL project. This INSPIRE compliant data layer is derived from the source data \"Atlas du karst wallon - Sites karstiques surfaciques\".  In Wallonia, 30% of the subsoil is made up of soluble carbonate rocks (limestone, dolomite, chalk, gypsum, etc.). By infiltrating these rocks, runoff generates a dissolution of these rocks, which gives rise to particular phenomena both underground (caves, underground rivers) and on the surface (chantoirs, sinkholes, collapses, cavities, etc.). These phenomena are called \"karstic\". By extension, the word \"karst\" also refers to a limestone region, or more broadly a region of soluble rocks whose landscape is marked by the effects of dissolution. We therefore speak of \"rock\", \"region\" or \"landscape\" karst.  The Atlas of Walloon Karst is the reference document for karst phenomena in Wallonia.   This data layer covers all karst sites, both underground and above ground. These data concern phenomena with a ground right-of-way whose diameter exceeds 30m. In this case, the representation by a single dot is not sufficient and does not render the impact that this site may have on the local environment. For these sites, a polygon resuming the contour of the phenomenon is therefore added with the label of the site in its center.   Particular karst phenomena illustrating the same phenomenon can be represented by the same polygon. These envelope curves mainly concern depressions (such as sinkholes) as well as paleokarst and abannets (former pockets of dissolution of carbonate rock, filled with loose ground partly evacuated and extracted by humans).  The associated winning table includes an identifier for each phenomenon (IGN card number + unique site number), the name and qualifier of the site, the municipality in which the phenomenon is located, fields to differentiate the site according to their nature and a hyperlink to the site data sheet.  The source data layer is continuously updated by the Walloon Commission for the Study and Protection of Underground Sites (CWEPSS) with the help of many collaborators. This series includes the spatial data layers referring to Buildings.  In the sense of the Directive, a building is \"a covered installation, usable for the protection of human beings, animals, things or for the production of economic goods. A building means any structure built or erected permanently on its site. Information on the location of buildings may be provided in the form of dots or with the actual basic form of the building\".  Most buildings can be identified (geocoded) by address (separate topic under INSPIRE).  This dataset proposes a 3D modelling of buildings in Wallonia based on information collected in 2013-2014 by LIDAR technology.  The project of this study consisted in improving the spatial information concerning the buildings present on the Walloon territory from the data of the PICC, the Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and the Digital Surface Model (DSM). These reference altimetry data were obtained through a LIDAR acquisition campaign carried out in 2013-2014.  Initially, the objective was to highlight the right-of-way of the buildings thanks to the vectors available in the IPCC and an altitude differential between the ground and the roof of the buildings. Thanks to these sudden changes in values, it was possible to model the surface area occupied by the buildings. The result of this work is the \"buildings hold\" layer. The technical attributes associated with this layer will allow you to associate the polygons representing the buildings with different altitude values, such as the average height of the roof or that of the ground. You will find the description of these fields in the explanatory table that is proposed to you as a resource associated with the sheet.  In a second step, this first layer of data was used to create three-dimensional buildings based on minimum (floor) and maximum (roof) heights. The result is available for download under the name \"3D buildings\". All the methods used for this process are detailed in the final report available in the associated resources. In Wallonia, 30% of the subsoil is made up of soluble carbonate rocks (limestone, dolomite, chalk, gypsum, etc.). By infiltrating these rocks, runoff generates a dissolution of these rocks, which gives rise to particular phenomena both underground (caves, underground rivers) and on the surface (chantoirs, sinkholes, collapses, cavities, etc.). These phenomena are called \"karstic\". By extension, the word \"karst\" also refers to a limestone region, or more broadly a region of soluble rocks whose landscape is marked by the effects of dissolution. We therefore speak of \"rock\", \"region\" or \"landscape\" karst.  The Atlas of Walloon Karst is the reference document for karst phenomena in Wallonia.   This data layer covers all karst sites, both underground and above ground. These data concern phenomena with a ground right-of-way whose diameter exceeds 30m. In this case, the representation by a single dot is not sufficient and does not render the impact that this site may have on the local environment. For these sites, a polygon resuming the contour of the phenomenon is therefore added with the label of the site in its center.   Particular karst phenomena illustrating the same phenomenon can be represented by the same polygon. These envelope curves mainly concern depressions (such as sinkholes) as well as paleokarst and abannets (former pockets of dissolution of carbonate rock, filled with loose ground partly evacuated and extracted by humans).  The associated winning table includes an identifier for each phenomenon (IGN card number + unique site number), the name and qualifier of the site, the municipality in which the phenomenon is located, fields to differentiate the site according to their nature and a hyperlink to the site data sheet. This INSPIRE compliant data comes from the source data CARBIOSOL - Uncertainties of Total Organic Carbon Contents - period 1949-1972.  It includes modeling uncertainties (here coefficient of variation - CV) for predicted TOC contents in soils under crops and meadows in Walloon territory for the period 1949-1972. It is therefore a modeling of the prediction error.  As part of the CARBIOSOL project (UCL - ULg - DGARNE), a 90-metre raster data layer of resolution of total organic carbon contents of soils under crops and grasslands was generated by spatial modelling. This model was developed for each type of land use of interest (crops and permanent grasslands).  For each land use, a Generalised Additive Model (GAM) has been adjusted to a calibration set containing two thirds of the observation points concerned. It was then validated on the remaining third.  For more details on the modeling implemented under CARBIOSOL, please refer to the metadata sheet documenting the data layer series.  The mapping of modeling uncertainties associated with predicted TOC levels for the period 1949-1974 is a spatially continuous raster layer on soils under crops and grasslands with a resolution of 90 metres. The uncertainty in each pixel is expressed as a relative percentage.  Prediction error modeling is a potential error that allows a better interpretation of the final cartographic products generated by the CARBIOSOL project. The mapping of total organic carbon contents for the period 1949-1972 should therefore be read in conjunction with the uncertainty map. This INSPIRE compliant data comes from the CARBIOSOL source data - Predicted Total Organic Carbon Contents - period 1949-1972.  The quality of a soil can be assessed through the study of various physical, chemical or biological parameters. Among these parameters, soil organic carbon, which constitutes more than 50% of the mass of soil organic matter, is generally considered the main indicator of soil quality, both for its agricultural and environmental functions.  This data layer maps historical total organic carbon (TOC) levels for soils under permanent crops and grasslands in the Walloon Region. The period covered by this map is from February 1949 to July 1972. The layer was created by spatial modelling method developed by UCL in the framework of the CARBIOSOL convention.  For more details on the mapping layers generated in the CARBIOSOL project, please refer to the metadata sheet documenting the data layer series.  In each pixel, the total organic carbon (TOC) content is expressed in grams of carbon per kilogram of dry fine earth (gC/kg). The output of the model is a raster layer of TOC contents at 90 meters resolution and spatially continuous on the Walloon agricultural territory.  The average TOC levels for soils under crops and grasslands over the period 1949-1972 were 1.62 gC/kg and 3.26 gC/kg. During this period, 9% of agricultural areas had TOC contents < 1.15 %C and 60% had contents < 1.5 gC kg-1. Below 1.15 gC/kg, the soil is destructured.  Soil TOC levels for both soil occupations tend to increase from north-west to south-east, from the sandy-loamy region to the Ardennes region, and decrease in the Jurassic region.
